Leonardo da Vinci and Michaelangelo Buonarroti helped shape the Italian Renaissance more than 500 years ago. Michaelangelo was a sculptor, painter and poet, as well as architect of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Da Vinci was a musician, mathematician, engineer, inventor, geologist, cartographer, botanist, writer and anatomist, as well as painter of two very famous paintings, the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper.
